Finally Friday

Finally Friday - well what a week it has been!  It started off with an emergency extraction of one of my back teeth (see previous post) and ended up with another emergency trip to the dentist to treat a dry socket and an infection.  Talk about painful!  Hopefully next week will be better!

Luckily work has been not so busy this week, but I managed to get a big job finished and out of the way that has been hanging around for a few weeks.  Next week will begin to get busier again with testing a new payroll system and gearing up for yet another month end - these are coming around way too quickly!

Nothing much on the horizon for this weekend.  Probably a day without power tomorrow, which means I can't get the washing done, but both kids will have friends over so that will keep them busy and not missing their gadgets too much, LOL.

I am looking forward to tomorrow night, with a family dinner with an Indonesian theme with our church.  Should be fun!  Although sandwiches will be the go for Adam as he won't eat the food that will be on offer.

I wonder if I can find some time this weekend for some craft?  I hope so!

Two Weeks Today, Teeth and Other Happenings

Well today marks two weeks since our doggie went missing :(  After a few initial sightings, and one false alarm from the RSPCA she has not been seen again.  I sincerely hope that some kind family have taken her in and love her as much as we do...

On Saturday evening after dinner, a piece of one of my molars broke off, causing pain and a sleepless night.  My usual dentist was unable to fit me in today so I went to see another this morning.  I had two options:  extraction or root canal therapy plus crown ($2,500).  Extraction is was.  Now four injections and some extreme muscle work from the dentist (it didn't want to come out) I am now minus a tooth.  No smoking, hot liquids or alcohol for 24 hours.  That means no cup of tea for 24 hours.  No cup of coffee.  I'm thinking it will be quite sore by the time the numbness wears off....

Adam has also managed to give Ash his cold, so she is home today too, feeling sorry for herself with her sore throat and sniffles.  A quick trip to the doctor has revealed no infection, just a cold so she will be right as rain in a day or two.  I don't think Adam was too fussed about going to school today with everyone else home!  I was going to go to work after the dentist, but decided against it after the number of injections and the difficulty in getting the tooth out.  I will probably be feeling it in an hour or so, plus it has given me a headache :(

New Blog & Testing

It has been simply ages since I have blogged.  My old blog is so way out of date that I decided to ditch it and start again.  I probably won't get many readers, but hey, that's OK.  I wonder if I can be disciplined to post regularly, or if it will just go by the wayside like my last effort???  Only time will tell.
